FORT SMITH, Ark. — Fort Smith Mayor George McGill is set to host a family-friendly free 4th of July celebration for the town's residents.
The event, promising giveaways, food trucks, live entertainment, and "the largest fireworks display in the region," will open at 5 p.m., with fireworks beginning at 9:30.
Harry E. Kelley Park, near Fort Smith's riverfront, will host the celebration.
The mayor's office provided the following schedule for the event:
- 4:00 p.m.- Streets around the park begin to close.
- 5:00 p.m. - Gates Open
- FREE transportation begins along Garrison and Rogers Avenues, and North A and B Streets.
- 6:00 p.m. - Mayor’s Welcome & the River Valley Community Band
- 7:00 p.m. - Live Music with Back N Time
- 7:30 p.m. - Live Music with Mr. Cabbagehead and Larry B
- 9:30 p.m. - Fireworks with patriotic music by the Rivery Valley Community Band
- 10:00 p.m. - Event Ends
