List: Regulations for shooting off fireworks in Arkansas cities this July 4
Residents looking to celebrate the Fourth of July this year with fireworks will need to make sure that their city allows them.
While burn bans and seasonal dryness have limited firework-friendly cities in Arkansas, not all cities have prohibited the festive tradition of setting off fireworks to celebrate America's birthday.
Residents looking to celebrate the Fourth of July this year with fireworks will need to make sure that their city allows them. Fortunately, most cities do allow fireworks on or around Independence Day. However, there are some restrictions in place.
For those who don't want to deal with the hassle of a private fireworks show, here's a full list of public events.
Permitted fireworks times and other regulations
Benton County
- Bentonville
- Fireworks — excluding bottle rockets, skyrockets, sky lanterns, and any firework mounted to and flies on a stick — may be discharged on private property on July 3 and July 4 between noon and midnight.
- Rogers
- Fireworks can be discharged from July 2 to July 6 between 11 a.m. and 11 p.m. Aerial fireworks that attach to a stick, which are commonly referred to as bottle rockets, are prohibited.
- Cave Springs
- Fireworks can be discharged from June 30 to July 6 from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. On July 3 and July 4, the curfew is extended to 11 p.m.
- Lowell
- Fireworks can be discharged from July 1 to July 6 between 9 a.m. and 10 p.m. They can be discharged on July 3 and July 4 until 11 p.m. Aerial fireworks attached to a stick, such as bottle rockets, skyrockets, and helicopter-type rockets, are prohibited. Aerial fireworks that "do not present a litter problem," such as Roman candles, are allowed.
- Gentry
- Fireworks can be discharged on July 4 from 8 a.m. to midnight. Non-airborne fireworks may be discharged on private property, while airborne fireworks, such as Roman candles, rockets, helicopter-type rockets, and bottle rockets, are prohibited.
- Bella Vista
- Fireworks can be discharged from July 3 to July 5 between 6 p.m. and midnight. Aerial fireworks attached to a stick, such as a bottle rocket, are prohibited.
- Gravette
- Fireworks can be discharged on private property from July 1 to July 7 between noon and midnight.
- Siloam Springs
- Fireworks can be discharged from July 2 to July between noon and 10 p.m. Aerial fireworks attached to a stick, such as a bottle rocket, are prohibited.
- Centerton
- Fireworks can be discharged from July 1 to July 4 between 8 a.m. and 11 p.m.
- Pea Ridge
- Fireworks can be discharged on private property from July 1 to July 7 between noon and midnight.
- Decatur
- Fireworks can be discharged on private property on July 3, 4, and 5 between noon and 11 p.m.
- Garfield
- Fireworks can be discharged on private property from July 1 to July 7 between noon and midnight.
Washington County
- Prairie Grove
- Fireworks can be discharged between 9 a.m. and 11 p.m. on July 4. Stick rockets are prohibited.
- Fayetteville
- Fireworks can be discharged on July 1, 2, and 3 between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. and July 4 from 10 a.m. until 11 p.m. Skyrockets and aerial fireworks attached to a stick are prohibited.
- Springdale
- Fireworks — excluding aerial fireworks that travel on a stick — can be discharged on private property from July 1 to July 4 between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m.
- Lincoln
- Fireworks can be discharged on private property on July 3 and July 4 between 11 a.m. and 11 p.m.
- West Fork
- Fireworks can be discharged on July 3 and July 4 from 9 a.m. until midnight.
- Elkins
- Fireworks can be discharged from July 1 to July 5 between 8 a.m. and 11 p.m.
- Goshen
- Fireworks can be discharged from July 1 to July 4 between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m.
- Farmington
- Fireworks can be discharged on July 3 and July 5 between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. and on July 4 from 10 a.m. until midnight.
- Johnson
- Fireworks can be discharged on July 3 and July 4 between 6 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.
- Tontitown
- Fireworks can be discharged from June 27 to July 6 between 9 a.m. and 10 p.m. On July 4, the curfew is extended until midnight.
- Greenland
- Fireworks can be discharged from July 1 and 4 between noon and midnight.
Madison County
- Huntsville
- Fireworks can be discharged from July 1 through July 4 between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. Aerial fireworks on a stick are prohibited.
Crawford County
- Mulberry
- Fireworks can be discharged from June 20 to July 10 until 10 p.m.
Franklin County
- Ozark
- Fireworks can be discharged from June 28 to July 5 until 10 p.m. On July 4, the curfew is extended to midnight. Bottle rocket fireworks are prohibited.
Johnson County
- Clarksville
- Fireworks can be discharged on July 4 from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Logan County
- Booneville
- Fireworks can be discharged on July 4 from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
- Paris
- Fireworks can be discharged on private property on July 4 from noon to midnight.
Sebastian County
The use and sale of fireworks in Fort Smith and Barling is prohibited.
- Bonanza
- Fireworks can be discharged from July 1 to July 5 between 8 a.m. and 11 p.m.
- Greenwood
- Fireworks can be discharged from July 3 to July 5 between noon and midnight.
- Lavaca
- Fireworks can be discharged on July 4 until 11 p.m.
- Mansfield
- Fireworks can be discharged from July 3 to July 5 between noon and midnight.
Note: If a city's mayor or the county has issued a burn ban during the first week of July, citizens will be prohibited from discharging any kind of fireworks.
It is illegal to set fireworks off on private property without the property owner's consent. If the city's rules are not followed, residents could face a fine.
