Public invited to watch release of rehabilitated hawk in Northwest Arkansas

GENTRY, Ark. — Southwestern Electric and Power Company, or SWEPCO, is inviting the public to "celebrate the beauty of wildlife" as a rehabilitated hawk is released in Gentry.

The release is planned for 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 18 at the Eagle Watch Nature Trail.

The bird, a Cooper's hawk, was housed and rehabilitated at Northsong Wild Bird Rehabilitation in Northwest Arkansas.

Northsong's website said that in 2024 alone the center has treated 541 birds and released 97.
