SPRINGDALE, Ark. — J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc. of Lowell (Nasdaq: JBHT) on Tuesday reported first-quarter revenue for fiscal 2024 of $2.9 billion, down 9.4% from $3.2 billion in the same quarter a year ago.
Income for the quarter was $127.5 million, down 35.5% from $197.8 million. Earnings per share came to $1.22, down from $1.89.
The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of eight analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.53 per share and revenue of $3.12 billion.
