FORT SMITH, Ark. — Bargain store Ollie's has officially had its grand opening in Fort Smith on Waldron Road next to Locke's Building Supply in the old Vista College.
Ollie's is known for selling brand-name closeout items that can be found at up to 70% off, the store said in the opening announcement. The bargain outlet store boasts "extreme value" of merchandise.
Items sold at Ollie's include books, food, household items, toys, electronics, health and beauty products, pet supplies, and more. The Fort Smith store officially opened at 9 a.m. on Wednesday.
“We are excited to open our 5th store in the great state of Arkansas where the folks have been so good to us,” said John Swygert, president and CEO of Ollie’s Bargain Outlet.
“With so many great deals, we’re thrilled to provide shoppers in Fort Smith and its surrounding areas with a treasure hunt experience where they can find a huge selection of brand name merchandise at up to 70% off the fancy stores’ prices every day.”
According to the company, the Fort Smith store will bring about 50-60 new jobs to the community, ranging from cashier positions to assistant manager positions.
There are currently 471 stores nationwide in 29 states, with the Fort Smith location being the fifth Ollie's in Arkansas.
