Sam's Club offering free samples again

Sam's Club is bringing back free samples to its clubs after a year-long pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Sam's Club announced Tuesday (June 1) that it plans to bring back its free sampling program, Taste & Tips, this week.

Customers can sample food and review products when they visit Sam's Club.

Initially, Taste & Tips will occur on the weekends and in limited quantities, and with new safety measures, such as sealed samples, in place.

Sam's Club sampling program paused in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The program has been an attraction for the retailer for over 35 years.

"Over the past year, our members’ shopping behaviors have evolved. Today, more than ever, members want to do more than just shop when they come to our clubs – they want to have an experience. In addition to the return of Taste & Tips, we’ve planned new, immersive sampling experiences that add even more excitement to our clubs," Megan Crozier, Chief Merchandising Officer at Sam's Club, said.

Sam's Club will also roll out Member's Mark Summer Eats Food Trucks this summer, allowing customers to sample the retailer's private brand in club parking lots across the central United States.

Sam's Club said it would also be experimenting with bringing samples directly to customers as they checkout, visit the member services desk or use Sam's Club Curbside Pickup.

Sampling is available at all of the retailer's stores in the United States.
