SPRINGDALE, Ark. — Tyson Foods Inc. of Springdale reported Monday losses for the fourth quarter and for fiscal 2023.
The publicly traded meat processor (NYSE: TSN) said it lost $450 million in the fourth quarter, a drop from a profit of $538 in the same quarter a year ago. For the fiscal year, the company lost $649 million after making $3.2 billion in fiscal 2022.
Quarterly earnings per share was a loss of $1.31, down from $1.50. Earnings, adjusted for asset impairment costs and non-recurring costs, came to 37 cents per share, which surpassed Wall Street expectations of 33 cents per share.
