ARKANSAS, USA — Walmart announced on Oct. 22 that it has launched a new same-day pharmacy delivery service. This means that customers can now order their groceries and prescriptions in a single order.
The new service launched in six states but will be available in 49 states by the end of 2025, according to the announcement. Both new prescriptions and refills will be available for this service.

- Missouri
- New York
- Nevada
- South Carolina
- Wisconsin
According to Walmart, in a recent survey, 55% of customers said they would like to have their prescriptions delivered with their groceries in a single online order. Walmart said this response came from customers who were "time-sensitive" and had busy families.
Walmart also announced plans to implement "on-demand" and "express delivery" for prescriptions. "Coming soon, customers will have the option to choose on-demand or express delivery." Walmart said that this option would deliver prescriptions to the customer's front doors within 30 minutes with express delivery or "within hours" with on-demand delivery.
"By combining pharmacy delivery into a single order, we're strengthening our commitment to providing everything they need whenever and wherever they need it," said Tom Ward, executive vice president and chief eCommerce officer of Walmart.
Safety
To ensure safety, Walmart said prescriptions will have "tamper-evident packaging." As with grocery deliveries, customers can track their medications online. As usual, prescriptions will be verified by licensed pharmacists, according to Walmart.
Pricing
Walmart+ members do not pay a delivery fee, but regular customers do. According to Walmart, the fee is $9.95.
