Recent donation brings Fayetteville Public Library closer to its $100K goal to fund fire recovery efforts

The Fayetteville Public Library has been raising money to pay an insurance deductible of $100,000 after a roof fire in May caused it to close down.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The Friends of Fayetteville Public Library (FFL) have contributed $45,000 to the Fire Recovery Fund, significantly boosting its progress toward its goal.

The Fayetteville Public Library has been raising money to pay an insurance deductible of $100,000 after a roof fire in May caused it to close down.

"We are most grateful to the patrons who donate books and frequent the bookstore and sales. They enabled this donation," the library said.

The FFPL raises money through bookstore sales to ensure the community has library resources. With this donation, the library now needs less than $24,000 to reach its goal of $100,000.

"This substantial contribution to the Library Foundation's Fire Recovery Fund demonstrates the unwavering support and dedication of the Friends organization," the library said.

The foundation encourages the community to help by donating to the Fire Recovery Fund. To donate, click here.
