BENTON COUNTY, ARKANSAS, Ark. — An 18-year-old has been arrested and is being held on a $500,000 bond after allegedly shooting someone multiple times in Siloam Springs.
Jordyn Gonzalez, of Decatur, is being held in the Benton County Jail on counts of attempted capital murder and first-degree battery.
According to an affidavit, officers with the Siloam Springs Police Department responded to reports of a shooting at the 1100 block of South Holly Street.
The alleged victim was found shot in the torso and near the kneecap. According to court documents, witnesses told police that a group of young males "jumped" the victim, beating them up and shooting them before fleeing the scene.
Two spent 9-millimeter casings were found on the scene, and the affidavit says the location indicated close range, the affidavit said. The alleged victim was later interviewed and told police he had been called outside his house by the group and once he exited, the group began hitting and kicking him before he was shot. The victim said that he only knew one of the people.
The affidavit says that on July 15, police reviewed security footage and identified the truck the group fled in.
Two members of the group were identified and spoke to police, pointing to Gonzalez as the shooter.
According to court documents, SSPD asked the Decatur Chief of Police about Gonzalez, who shared that "his department has had many run-ins with a male named Jordyn Gonzalez for gun-related incidents, and on a couple of incidents for shooting at people."
Gonzalez was booked into the Benton County Jail on July 17.
