Police: 21-year-old arrested in Fort Smith stabbing

The incident occurred at around 3 p.m. on June 5 near the intersection of North 5th Street and A Street.

FORT SMITH, Ark. — A 21-year-old has been arrested in Fort Smith after allegedly stabbing someone.

According to a release from the Fort Smith Police Department (FSPD), officers responded to a report of a stabbing and found a 58-year-old male with multiple injuries.

The incident occurred at around 3 p.m. on June 5 near the intersection of North 5th Street and A Street. A woman named Summer Meeks was arrested and booked into the Sebastian County Jail.

FSPD says that the victim was transported to a nearby hospital and the extent of the injuries are unknown.

Meeks' jail booking information says that she is accused of first-degree battery and has a court appearance on June 10.
