Five Arkansans indicted by Oklahoma grand jury for allegedly conspiring to sell meth

The five are facing mandatory minimum sentences of 10 years in prison.

ARKANSAS, USA — According to Oklahoma court officials, five Arkansas residents have been indicted with drug charges that carry a minimum 10-year sentence in prison, and up to a $10 million fine.

From 2018 to 2024, Hope residents Rito and Jose Alvarado-Gomez, Iris Luna-Herrera, and Ana Frayre-Barboza collaborated with Ricardo Villeda from Little Rock to sell meth in Oklahoma, according to the indictment.

In addition to the conspiracy charges, Rito and Jose Alvarado-Gomez, as well as Villeda have been charged with selling meth.

Officials say the charges come after a joint investigation by multiple departments:

  • Drug Enforcement Administration
  • Bureau of Indian Affairs
  • Federal Bureau of Investigation
  • Homeland Security Investigation
  • Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics
  • 8th North Drug Task Force out of Hope, Arkansas
  • 9th West Drug Task Force out of Nashville, Arkansas
  • Arkansas State Police
  • Hope Police Department
  • McCurtain County Sheriff's Office
