CRAWFORD COUNTY, ARKANSAS, Ark. — In two separate seizures on June 18 and July 3, Arkansas State Police (ASP) said they found over 400 pounds of illegal marijuana and arrested four men from out of state.
June 18:
On the morning of Tuesday, June 18, ASP reportedly stopped a rented 2023 Suburban heading eastbound on I-40, and found 10 bags of marijuana weighing a total of 325 pounds, along with $25,000 in cash in the resulting search.
ASP estimates the street value of the marijuana to be around $490,000.
The driver, Christian Nichols, from Hopkinsville Kentucky, and passenger Giovanni Capozzi, from Fresno, California, were arrested and charged with possession with purpose to deliver.
July 3:
On the afternoon of Wednesday, July 3, ASP pulled over a rented Nissan Rogue heading eastbound on I-40 and found three duffle bags containing over 90 pounds of illegal marijuana.
The two people in the car, Wenchao Zhen, from Rowland Heights California, and Muayad Yasin, from Los Angeles were arrested and charged with possession with intent to deliver. They reportedly told police they were traveling from California to Atlanta.
