'Armed and extremely dangerous' suspect wanted by Fort Smith police arrested in Louisiana

The shooting on June 21 reportedly left one person with non-life-threatening injuries, according to FSPD.

FORT SMITH, Ark. — A Pine Bluff man, wanted in connection to a June 21 Fort Smith shooting that left one person hospitalized, was arrested in Lousiana on July 11, according to the Fort Smith Police Department (FSPD).

On June 25, an arrest warrant was issued for Keno Johnson, 33, after the shooting on June 21. During the search for Johnson, FSPD told the public he "should be considered armed and extremely dangerous."

A release from the Fort Smith Police Department (FSPD) on the night of the shooting stated officers were dispatched to North 50th Street and Wirsing Avenue after reports of a shooting. 

One victim was located and taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to FSPD, and they said there was no danger to the public at that time.

On July 12, FSPD released a statement saying authorities in Ville Platte, Louisiana had taken Johnson into custody.
