Greenwood police: Car chase, crash, and search through woods ends in three arrests

BARLING, Ark. — According to the Greenwood Police Department (GPD), authorities arrested three people after a police pursuit that ended with a chase on foot through the woods on Sept. 5.

The Barling Police Department (BPD) attempted to stop a suspected stolen car around 2 p.m., and a vehicle pursuit began that caused a crash at the intersection of Highways 96 and 10, according to the GPD.

The suspects reportedly fled through the woods but were further pursued by police with the assistance of K9s. 

The three suspects were wanted "in multiple jurisdictions for various crimes," including alleged vehicle theft and home invasion.

While the suspects were being pursued, the East Hills Middle School and East Pointe Elementary School were temporarily placed on lockdown.
