Man accused of raping minors misses first day of his Benton County jury trial, court docs say

​At the time of the alleged rape, he was listed as a guardian of one of the girls.

BENTON COUNTY, ARKANSAS, Ark. — Authorities are reportedly looking for Gil Alberto Carpio-Aguilar after he missed the first day of his Aug. 26 jury trial connected to two charges accusing him of raping minors.

Carpio-Aguilar, 35, raped a 9-year-old girl and a 13-year-old girl dozens of times over the course of a year, according to a heavily redacted arrest affidavit.

At the time of the alleged rapes, he was listed as the guardian of one of the girls.

Court documents report he was arrested in December 2021, and after multiple court hearings, his jury trial was set for Aug. 26. When he did not attend the first day, the judge issued a bench warrant for his arrest.
