CARROLL COUNTY, Arkansas — A former Carroll County deputy arrested on felony charges has pleaded guilty to tampering records and been sentenced.

Blake Ringberg was arrested in 2023. Arkansas State Police said in a statement after Ringberg's arrest that Carroll County Prosecutor Tony Rogers contacted law enforcement in March 2022 requesting the deputy be investigated.

While ASP investigated, Ringberg resigned from the sheriff's office. ASP said he's "no longer employed as a law enforcement officer in the State of Arkansas."

According to court documents, ASP was asked to investigate money missing from Carroll County's Selective Traffic Enforcement Program.

Ringberg was found to have collected $11,622.36 in overtime from the program without proper documentation.

Ringberg was arrested on a total 26 felony counts including theft, forgery, tampering with public records, and abuse of office.

On Oct. 22, Ringberg pleaded guilty to three of the counts, including theft of property, forgery, and tampering with public records. All other counts were dismissed.

As a result of the plea, Ringberg was sentenced to four years of unsupervised probation.

As a condition of the deal, Ringberg agreed to relinquish his certification, never seek employment as a law enforcement officer in Arkansas, and to never seek reinstatement of certification in Arkansas.

Additionally, he has to pay $11,622.36 in victim restitution
