ASP: Charleston man charged with first-degree murder for deadly shooting

Donny Deer, 26, was arrested on Nov. 30 for allegedly shooting and killing Daniel Davis.

CHARLESTON, Ark. — A Charleston man was charged with first-degree murder for the killing of a 43-year-old man inside a home on Church Street, according to the Arkansas State Police (ASP). 

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office (FSCO) responded to a call to the residence where the shooting occurred. Once FSCO arrived at the home, they found Daniel Davis who was pronounced dead at the scene, officials say. Donny Deer, 26, was arrested on Nov. 30 after the fatal shooting. 

ASP's Criminal Investigation Division will continue to investigate the shooting and Davis' cause of death.
