CLARKSVILLE, Ark. — An arrest for fake tags during a traffic stop in Johnson County led to a wider investigation ending at a Clarksville motel where deputies seized over $61,000 in cash, five handguns, and large amounts of illegal drugs, officials announced on Tuesday.
According to the Johnson County Sheriff's Office (JCSO), on Nov. 4, deputies pulled over a black Chrysler 300 with what appeared to be a counterfeit tag. Deputies said they searched the car and found a handgun and 12 grams of meth on Sunday, Nov. 4.
The arrest began an investigation into the suspect's associates and surveillance of the Sunset Inn in Clarksville, deputies said.
On Nov. 6, investigators conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with expired tags that was pulling into the Sunset Inn. Deputies said a K-9 officer was called, where deputies found meth and a handgun in the vehicle. After further investigation including interviews and surveillance, a search warrant was obtained by deputies for a room at the motel.
"Three firearms, methamphetamine, suspected fentanyl, and other controlled substance were located as well as drug paraphernalia used to distribute illegal controlled substances and over $61,000.00 in US currency and a 2015 Dodge Charger were seized," the JCSO said.
In total, officials say 40 grams of meth, 52 grams of marijuana, fentanyl, over $61,000, and a 2015 Dodge Charger were seized during the course of the investigation.
Kathy Lueken, Jammie Hill, and Neil Joseph Forester were arrested by deputies. All three are charged with possession of drugs and firearms, possession of drugs with the purpose of delivering, and other charges.
