Farmington School District responds to teacher misconduct allegations

A day after Clayton Sallee's arrest, the Farmington School District released a statement informing parents and guardians that an employee was arrested.

FARMINGTON, Ark. — A Farmington High School teacher is accused of sexually assaulting a minor who was a student at the school, according to court documents.

Clayton Sallee, 39, was arrested by the Farmington Police Department (FPD) on Oct. 7. He faces a charge of second-degree sexual assault for allegedly engaging in sexual conduct with the child in early September.

A day after Sallee's arrest, the Farmington School District released a statement informing parents and guardians that an employee was arrested. According to the district, the administration was informed of an employee who "engaged in inappropriate conduct toward a student."

After learning of this allegation in September, the district said they worked with FPD to report it to the Arkansas Child Maltreatment Hotline. The district said the employee was placed on administrative leave immediately and has not returned to this school.

At the time of this report, Sallee is still listed as an employee on Farmington High School's website

Sallee was released on a $25,000 bond on the same day of his arrest. He is expected to appear in court on Oct. 21.
