Fayetteville deputy chief of police arrested for DWI | Here's what we know

The release states that around 10:41 p.m., Arkansas State Police conducted a traffic stop on a 2012 RAM truck due to a defective headlight.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — According to the City of Fayetteville, a deputy chief of police was arrested for driving while intoxicated on Wednesday, June 26.

The release states that around 10:41 p.m., Arkansas State Police (ASP) conducted a traffic stop on a 2012 RAM truck due to a defective headlight on Wedington Drive and Fieldstone Avenue.

The driver of the RAM turned out to be Deputy Chief of Police for the Fayetteville Police Department, Bradley Renfro. Officials said Renfro refused to "submit to a chemical test" and was arrested. He was placed on administrative leave following the arrest. 

Officials said an internal investigation is being conducted by ASP. 

According to the arrest report, he was released at 3:58 a.m. and has a court date set for Friday, June 28 at 7:45 a.m. 

No further details have been released at this time.
