The suspect was reportedly located within minutes after the robbery, according to the Fort Smith Police Department.

FORT SMITH, Ark. — A man arrested last week for a Fort Smith bank robbery has now been connected to a second bank robbery on that same street, according to the Fort Smith Police Department (FSPD).

The First National Bank on Grand Avenue in Fort Smith was robbed on the morning of March 15, police said in a statement. The suspect, who matched the description given to police, was reportedly located within minutes in the 1800 block of Greenwood Avenue and then arrested, FSPD said. The suspect was identified as 24-year-old, Quintavious Releford.

Now, police say Releford is connected to another incident in the same area.

FSPD and the FBI arrested Releford for a robbery that occurred at Cadence Bank at 3117 Grand Avenue on Jan. 8, 2024.

According to police, the robbery happened around 10:15 a.m. on March 15.

"No injuries occurred during the crime or arrest. More information will be released when available," FPD said.
