Discovery of possible murder weapon delays triple murder case

The delay comes after a handgun, believed to be the murder weapon, was found near Conway.

MADISON COUNTY, Ark. — The trial has been delayed for a man accused of killing three family members in February 2021 near the Wesley community in Madison County.

The trial is now pushed back to April 22, 2024, due to incomplete crime lab reports.

Hunter Chenoweth of De Queen, Ark., was arrested Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2021, in Central Arkansas after being accused of abducting a child and murdering three family members—Tami Lynn Chenoweth, 51, James Stanley McGehee, 59, and Cheyenne Chenoweth, 26.

The delay comes after a handgun, believed to be the murder weapon, was found near Conway.

Chenoweth pleaded not guilty to capital murder charges in March 2021.
