Police: 1 injured in Rogers shooting, suspect arrested

ROGERS, Ark. — One person was injured in a shooting in Rogers on Thursday, Sept. 5, according to the Rogers Police Department (RPD). 

Authorities say they responded to the 1600 block of South 8th Street at around 10:02 p.m. When police arrived, RPD said they found a man with a gunshot wound.

After investigating, officials said they arrested the suspect, who is identified as 19-year-old Michael Barcenas. 

Barcenas has been booked in the Benton County Jail on one count of attempted capital murder or capital murder. No bond had been set as of 5:45 p.m. on Sept. 6.

Police said this was an isolated incident, and there was no threat to the public.
