SPRINGDALE, Ark. — A pursuit involving the Benton County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) and a driver of a stolen U-Haul ended in Springdale on Thursday, Feb. 7.

Shannon Jenkins, a spokesperson for the Benton County Sheriff's Office, told 5NEWS that BCSO was assisting the Oklahoma Highway Patrol involving a stolen vehicle, the U-Haul passenger panel van.

BCSO picked up the pursuit in Siloam Springs. Two people are now in custody, and charges are being sorted out, according to Jenkins.

Springdale Police Department (SPD) Public Information Officer Matt Ray told 5NEWS that Benton County Sheriff's Office was in pursuit of a U-Haul and that SPD is assisting with traffic near I-49 and Sunset Boulevard.

An ARDOT (Arkansas Department of Transportation) report lists the situation as a "police incident." ARDOT says that all southbound lanes were impacted and moved slowly on the left shoulder before clearing.
