ROLAND, Ark. — The Roland Police Department (RPD) confirmed that multiple arrests have been made after a slew of threats against schools in the area.
Roland Public Schools first reported a threat on Oct. 17, when school dismissal was disrupted after a potential threat made through a suicide hotline.
On Oct. 22, the district told families not to drop off students due to a bomb threat.
"About 7:15 a.m. we received another threat from the online platform, from the 988 number, which is the suicide hotline, that there was another bomb threat placed at the school," Lt. Tyler Ragan with RPD said.
A day after the latest threat was made, RPD said they were offering a $5,000 reward for any information that could lead to the arrest of the person or people who made the threats.
On Nov. 1, Roland Public Schools shared a release from RPD stating that two people were arrested in connection to the threats.
"This action underscores our commitment to upholding the law and ensuring the safety of the students and staff as we work diligently to bring justice to all individuals involved," RPD said.
RPD added that more arrests are expected as the investigation continues, but that no names are being released at this time.
"We urge the community to remain vigilant and report any relevant information. Our priority is to ensure a thorough and fair investigation," RPD said.
