Shooting leaves 1 dead in Sequoyah County, suspect in custody

SEQUOYAH COUNTY, Okla. — A 32-year-old man is dead after a shooting that took place at a home in Sequoyah County on Sunday, Oct. 22. 

Larry Lane with the Sequoyah County Sheriff's Office says the shooting took place at around 3 or 4 p.m. on Wild Horse Mountain Road, just a couple miles south of Sallisaw. Authorities say multiple people were in the home when the shooting happened.

The suspect is an adult male who is currently waiting at the sheriff's office to be interviewed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) according to officials.
