SPRINGDALE, Ark. — A juvenile student at Lakeside Junior High School in Springdale has been arrested after a gun was found in their backpack.
A release from the Springdale Police Department says that on May 3, a school resource officer at Lakeside was notified by administration that a student had a firearm on campus.
The student was located and a firearm was found in their backpack. The student was placed under arrest without incident, the release said.
"There was no known threat to students, faculty, staff, or campus of Lakeside Junior High School," the Springdale Police Department said, adding that the incident is still under investigation.
