SWAT called to Springdale after suspect accused of terroristic threatening, making threats to officers

Sgt. Matt Ray with the Springdale Police Department says after over an hour standoff, the man was arrested.

SPRINGDALE, Ark. — On Tuesday, Oct. 24, a SWAT team along with officers from the Fayetteville and Springdale police departments were called after Allen Belt, of Springdale, was accused of making terroristic threats, authorities say.

According to Springdale police Sgt. Matt Ray, Fayetteville police requested assistance in the arrest of Belt, and Springdale officers then contacted the SWAT team and negotiators after an initial attempt to make contact with Belt.

Sgt. Ray says Belt, living in a shed behind a house on N. 56th Street, was arrested after a standoff that lasted over an hour. 

No other information has been released.
