Alleged Capitol rioter from Tontitown arrested by FBI in Fayetteville | Here's what charges he is facing

Camden allegedly climbed a media tower and waived a "Three Percenters" flag during the Jan. 6 riot.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — A Tontitown man was arrested by the FBI in Fayetteville on Monday, July 1, for charges related to the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, according to the District of Columbia U.S. Attorney's Office.

According to the release, 45-year-old David Michael Camden is being accused of "felony offenses of assaulting, resisting or impeding certain officers and civil disorder." Camden is also facing misdemeanor charges including:

  1. Entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds
  2. Disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds
  3. Engaging in physical violence in a restricted building or grounds
  4. Disorderly conduct in a Capitol building
  5. Act of physical violence on Capitol grounds or buildings

The release states Camden was seen "approaching a bike rack barricade separating police officers from rioters gathered on the West Front of Capitol grounds." Camden is accused of yelling at officers and pushing the bike rack into a line of officers "in an apparent attempt to breach the line at this location."

Officers responded by deploying a chemical irritant towards him, but despite this, Camden stayed on the Capitol grounds and continued to riot. Officials said Camden allegedly deployed a fire extinguisher toward a line of police officers. Camden then allegedly climbed a media tower and waived a "Three Percenters" flag. The release explains that this is "an American far-right anti-government militia."

Camden is expected to make his first appearance in the Western District of Arkansas.

Since 2021, over 1,400 people have been charged across the U.S. in connection to the riot. The investigation is still underway. Anyone with information about the riot is asked to contact the FBI at 1-800-225-5324 or visit tips.fbi.gov.
