New info released as police search for suspected Van Buren bank robber

Although he did not show a gun, he did "have his hand in his pocket as if he was armed," police say.

VAN BUREN, Ark. — According to the Van Buren Police Department (VBPD), an investigation is underway after someone tried to rob the Generations Bank on Alma Highway on the morning of Dec. 28, but no arrests have been made.

VBPD says that around 10:30 a.m., a white man in his late-20s to mid-30s "walked into the bank and handed the teller a note demanding money." Although he did not show a gun, he did "have his hand in his pocket as if he was armed," police say.

Police say the suspect is around 5'11", between 180-200 pounds, and was last seen wearing a black beanie, brown coat, and dark pants.

Both the suspect and his car were caught on security camera footage, and police are searching for him now.

The car is described as a black Ford sedan with an Oklahoma license plate.
