WASHINGTON COUNTY, ARKANSAS, Ark. — The Washington County Sheriff's Office (WCSO) has confirmed that deputies responded to an early morning shooting that left one person injured on Sept. 6.
Kelly Cantrell, a spokesperson for WCSO, told 5NEWS that a call initially went to the Fayetteville Police Department. "The FPD responded to a location around 1 a.m., but once they determined the incident was outside their jurisdiction, WCSO was contacted around 4:10 a.m."
The location of the incident was N Sunshine Road close to Mt. Comfort Road, according to WCSO.
Cantrell said the report was of a gunshot wound to the leg, adding that there is no risk to the public and that the incident is currently under investigation.
