Springdale man claims $1 million lottery ticket sold at Casey's on Don Tyson Parkway

While he is still in disbelief, the winner says he is unsure what he will do with his prize.

SPRINGDALE, Ark. — A lottery ticket worth $1 million was sold in Springdale in the Sept. 16 drawing. Three days later, a Springdale man finally claimed his prize.

The ticket was purchased at the Casey's General Store on West Don Tyson Parkway, with the winning numbers 8, 9, 11, 27, and 31. The Powerball number was 17 and the Power Play multiplier was 5.

The man wished to remain anonymous but shared that he purchased the Quick Pick ticket on a normal day while he was stopping for gas.

With some extra change, he decided to also purchase the winning Powerball ticket.

"I said, 'Yeah, give me a Powerball ticket,'" he told lottery officials.

According to the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery (ASL), he matched all five winning numbers.

He told ASL he discovered his win the morning after the drawing. To double-check the win that seemed too good to be true, he visited another convenience store to scan his ticket.

While he is still in disbelief, the winner says he is unsure what he will do with his prize.

ASL announced that a Jacksonville man won another $1 million prize just a few days before the Sept. 16 drawing.

The LOTTO jackpot will be at $3.582 million for Wednesday night's drawing.
