SPRINGDALE, Ark. — Two men were arrested for charges related to aggravated robbery, kidnapping, and vehicle theft, according to the Springdale Police Department (SPD).

A report from SPD said that the Springdale Crime Suppression Unit responded to the area of Josie Place on July 16 for a delayed robbery report.

In the report, police said a man stated he agreed to help the suspects, Adrian Oswaldo Alderete-Herrera and another suspect only identified in the report as "Edgar," move some items to a storage unit.

The victim said, "At some point," he then agreed to follow the two suspects to another location in Springdale.

While the location was not specified in the report, officials said Alderete allegedly "pushed the victim to the ground" and threatened him with a gun. The victim said Alderete asked to take his truck, which he refused. Instead, he got in the truck's driver seat with Alderete, who was holding the gun in his lap, allegedly pointing at him.

According to the report, the victim said Alderete demanded he drive to a restaurant, with the other suspect following behind in another vehicle. The victim said he "felt afraid and had no liberty."

When the group arrived at the restaurant, the man said he felt he had no choice and gave up his truck to Alderete, who reportedly left in the man's truck. Police said they asked the alleged victim why he didn't call the police at the time, but he said he was too afraid. The man told police he asked Edgar for a ride and was returned to Josie Place.

The two suspects were arrested and interviewed after their Miranda rights were translated into Spanish, the report said. In the interview, Edgar told police that Alderete said: "he was going to take the victim's truck in order to scare him."

Alderete is being held at the Washington County Jail on a $50,000 bond and is due in court on Aug. 9. No further details on Edgar were provided.
