Adair County crash kills 6-year-old, injures 4 others

Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the cause of the crash, how it happened, and the driver's condition at the time of the crash is still under investigation.

ADAIR COUNTY, Okla. — A 6-year-old died at the scene of a crash near Stilwell on June 20, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP). 

The crash occurred on State Highway 51 around 2 p.m. on Thursday. OHP says the cause of the crash, how it happened, and the driver's condition at the time of the crash is still under investigation. 

OHP reported that the driver as well as three other passengers were injured. The adult driver was admitted to a nearby hospital in critical condition, while the minor passengers were admitted in stable or good condition. 

According to the report, four of the five people in the car were not wearing seatbelts. Those who were not wearing seatbelts were reportedly ejected from the vehicle during the crash.
