Alma students to learn remotely Wednesday

School campuses will be closed again on Wednesday.

ALMA, Arkansas — Alma students will learn from home on Wednesday (May 5) following a strong storm Monday night that has caused widespread damage to the community.

The Alma School District posted the following message on social media:

Parents and Students, Wednesday, May 5th will be an AMI day. We recognize that many of our students do not have their Chromebooks at home, may be without power, or have other barriers that may impact completing this work immediately. Teachers will be communicating with students regarding the work for the day and fully understand these barriers as this work is assigned. School campuses will not be open to any students, teachers, or staff tomorrow. Please stay safe as we all continue to support each other and the community during this time.

Emergency crews are still working to restore power and remove debris from roadways in Alma.
