LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — This year the Arkansas Black Hall of Fame is celebrating 32 years of Black excellence with the announcement of the 2024 class of inductees.
The organization unveiled the names of six honorees who have made significant contributions to the state and world through health and business initiatives, government service, justice, and entertainment.
The honorees include:
- Phyllis Dickerson- Business/Political strategist & crisis management extraordinaire
- Steve H. Broadnax, III- Tony-nominated theatrical director and educator
- Dr. Mamie Phipps Clark- social psychologist, pioneering researcher, and author
- Mack Wilbourn- Entrepreneur, philanthropist, community and business leader
- Thomas East- musician, vocalist and entertainer
- Cora Duffy McHenry- educator, education leader, and advocate
"There's something unique about Arkansas that allows these individuals to overcome many challenges, but to be able to manifest and to realize their life potential and their God-given talents and literally change the world," said Charles Stewart, Chairman Of The Black Hall Of Fame.
Stewart said that the ceremony will highlight its 30th class and explained how it has been a privilege to continue honoring Black Arkansans for their work.
The induction ceremony will be on October 26, 2024, at the Little Rock Robinson Center.
