Hugo's, Taliano's Italian Restaurant, and other Arkansas staples are among the Food Hall of Fame finalists

“Food is such a defining feature of Arkansas, having the potential to tell stories with just one bite. Our finalists are perfect examples of this."

ARKANSAS, USA — The 2024 Arkansas Food Hall of Fame announced their finalists on May 13, which included a list of the very best Arkansas-based restaurants voted by Arkansans themselves.

The Arkansas Food Hall of Fame began in 2016, launched by the Division of Arkansas Heritage to recognize locally-owned restaurants, proprietors, and food-themed events in the state.

Award finalists were announced at an event hosted by Marty Ryall, the director of the Division of Arkansas Heritage.

“This year’s finalists embody the flavors, traditions, and stories that define Arkansas,” Ryall said. “As we celebrate these restaurants, we honor not only the dishes they create but the communities they feed and the legacies they preserve.”

Ryall was accompanied by Shea Lewis, secretary for the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism, and members of the Arkansas Food Hall of Fame Committee.

“Food is such a defining feature of Arkansas, having the potential to tell stories with just one bite,” Lewis said. “Our finalists are perfect examples of this, and we’re honored to recognize their impact on the state’s dynamic food culture.”

In September 2024, honorees will be inducted into the Arkansas Hall of Fame during a special event. Details of that event will be announced later this year. Fore more information on the Arkansas Food Hall of Fame, visit their website.
