Man arrested after being found inside woman's vehicle at Arkansas Walmart

A 58-year-old man was arrested at a Walmart in Sherwood and is facing several charges after being found inside of a woman's vehicle with her 2-year-old child.

SHERWOOD, Ark. — An Arkansas man has been arrested and is facing multiple charges after being found inside a woman's vehicle while her 2-year-old child was inside.

According to police, the incident happened at a Walmart located along Highway 107 in Sherwood on Jan. 29 at 7:07 p.m.

Authorities said that they received a call alerting them about "a man [that] was inside a woman's vehicle" at the Walmart.

Callers told police that they saw the man allegedly trying to take a woman's 2-year-old child. The owner of the vehicle told authorities this happened after she had returned to her vehicle, placed her child inside of it, and then noticed an "unknown man under some clothing inside the vehicle."

Upon the discovery, the woman said that she yelled at the man, later identified as 58-year-old Timothy Caudle, to get out of her car.

The woman said that Caudle then reached for and grabbed her 2-year-old from the vehicle, and after a struggle she was able to completely remove her child from the vehicle.

Sherwood police said that witnesses in the area prevented Caudle from getting out of the vehicle until officers arrived on the scene. When there, police took him into custody.

Caudle now faces several charges, including breaking and entering, false imprisonment, endangering the welfare of a minor, and assault.

Police said that the victim and her child were both evaluated and cleared by medical personnel.
