ROGERS, Ark. — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is warning of low water levels at Beaver Lake.
According to a release from USACE, the lake level is currently at just over 1,112 feet. The last time the lake was this low was 2017.
While the lake is lower than it has been the past few years, USACE says that this is normal.
"Although low, this is within the normal operation of the reservoir for its conservation purposes of hydroelectric power production and water supply," the release said.
Those hoping to get out on the lake are encouraged to practice caution and take extra safety measures.
"Boaters should slow down, wear life jackets, use depth finders or other navigation resources, give the shoreline a wide birth and be especially careful at night," USACE said.
USACE warns that some areas may have underwater obstacles like tree stumps, rocks and land points.
