Man who drowned near Hickory Creek on Beaver Lake identified by officials

The Hickory Creek Fire Department says they responded alongside Hwy 94 East Fire Department, the Benton County Sheriff's Office, AGFC, and Pafford EMS.

BENTON COUNTY, ARKANSAS, Ark. — Multiple fire departments and the Benton County Sheriff's Office responded to a drowning call at Beaver Lake on Aug. 3.

A Facebook post from the Hickory Creek Fire Department says they responded alongside Hwy 94 East Fire Department, the Benton County Sheriff's Office, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, and Pafford EMS.

The units responded to the end of East Hwy 264 at the lake.

Shannon Jenkins with the Benton County Sheriff's Office told 5NEWS that first responders received a call on Saturday a little before 8 p.m. saying someone had drowned in the area of Hickory Creek on Beaver Lake.

Jenkins says the Benton County Dive Team was deployed and that a search was underway. 

The body of Adan Gustavo Aguirre, 19, was recovered at around 10:30 p.m.

"We are saddened by the recent loss of life and our hearts go out to family and friends," said Jenkins. "We would like to urge lakegoers to enjoy Beaver Lake with caution, and utilize life jackets."

BCSO says that no further information will be released at this time.
