BENTONVILLE, Ark. — The hospitality group behind a handful of notable Northwest Arkansas restaurants has responded after employees of Pressroom at Main Street in Bentonville organized support for each other in the wake of the popular restaurant's sudden closing.
On Monday, March 4, employees at Pressroom, located on the city's square, were notified that the restaurant was abruptly closing its doors through the employee messaging app.
Workers told 5NEWS Pressroom did provide a two-week severance package for all employees, however, some came together to support coworkers who provide for their families and are now abruptly out of a job.
A spokesperson with Ropeswing said in a statement to 5NEWS on Wednesday, March 6, that the closure stems from the everchanging hospitality industry. "In the restaurant and hospitality world, new concepts are always appearing, and this decision is simply a reflection of that," the statement said, in part.
Ropeswing stated that Pressroom's last day of operation was Sunday, March 3, and thanked Pressroom's employees "for their hard work and dedication to making a great dining experience."
As for future plans, Ropeswing said they are "excited to see what the next big thing will be at this vibrant location," and the group hopes to announce more details "soon."
