BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Multiple Bentonville residents said they were disturbed after a Friday night concert at the Momentary could be heard for miles.
Popular DJ and producer Kaskade graced the Momentary stage in Bentonville Friday evening. While 2,000 people were in attendance, some residents in the area said they could hear the concert for miles.
One resident said they could hear the concert six miles out and inside their home.
The City of Bentonville provided 5NEWS with the following statement about the concert:
"We received several calls concerning noise pollution Friday evening. We are working diligently with local venues to identify any miscommunications or misunderstandings between the existing city ordinance regarding noise pollution and local musicians or performances. Our code review committee is actively studying the current ordinance and will present appropriate revisions to City Council for approval."
According to Bentonville noise ordinance, noise levels can be up to 70 decibels from 7 a.m. midnight on the weekends. Bentonville police said Friday night's recorded noise levels were between 65 and 70 decibels near 6th Street and 8th Street.
In response to this issue, the Momentary provided the following statement:
"We understand that for some in the neighborhood and around the community, the noise levels from the concert presented an inconvenience, and for this we apologize. as we continue to provide meaningful cultural and entertainment experiences for our community, we will explore a variety of options to mitigate disturbances."
