BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Following the May 26 storms that killed four people and destroyed countless homes across Benton County, cities have conducted sweeps where they pick up storm debris piled in residential yards, but that phase is coming to a close in Bentonville.
According to the City of Bentonville, the city's contracted debris removal specialists will perform their final sweep on Aug. 5, so residents are asked to have all their debris front and center before that day.
If residents still have debris after that sweep, they are asked to call the debris pickup line at (479) 326-6559.
Bentonville notes that "city employees and contractors are working seven days a week to restore our beautiful community. We appreciate your assistance as we make progress."
There is also a compost facility that accepts debris directly from Bentonville residents, located at 2000 NW A Street. Limbs, branches, and logs up to 6 feet long are accepted there.
The facilities' hours are listed below:
- Weekdays: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
- Saturday: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Sunday: Closed
