BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Best Friends Pet Resource Center and 21c Museum Hotel in Bentonville are teaming up to let hotel guests bring a shelter dog into their home away from home.
The Pet Sleepover Program gives guests at 21c the option to foster an adoptable dog from Best Friends for the night.
To participate, hotel guests can fill out a form online to sign up to check a dog out for the night.
When participants come by the Pet Resource Center to pick the dog up, the center will provide them with an overnight bag complete with treats, toys, and everything else they will need.
“We’ll make sure that they're bathed and beautiful and ready to go,” Linda DeBerry, senior marketing specialist for Best Friends NWA said. “They'll come with an ‘adopt me’ leash and the ‘adopt me’ bandana, so when they're out in public, people will know that they're available for adoption … The rest is just up to the individual person. You want to play, you want to walk, you just want to watch movies and snuggle on the sofa – that's up to you.”
DeBerry said the program brings a furry friend for hotel guests and a chance for the adoptable pets to be seen around the community.
She added there is no fee from Best Friends for this service, and 21c is waiving its usual pet fee for the sleepover program.
Best Friends asks that those who participate in the program keep children supervised around the dogs, and do not have another pet with you if you are fostering a dog for the night.
