Over 200 pets went home with a new family after Best Friends' Super Adoption Event

"This weekend’s super adoption was an amazing example of how a community can come together to help save pets' lives."

BENTONVILLE, Ark. — The Best Friends Animal Society invited 30 shelters and rescue groups to participate in the first-ever Super Adoption Event this past weekend.

According to Best Friends, more than 450 dogs and cats from all across Arkansas were up for adoption at the event on June 14 and 15.

"This weekend’s super adoption was an amazing example of how a community can come together to help save pets' lives," Michelle Logan, executive director for the Best Friends Pet Resource Center in Northwest Arkansas, said. "Over 30 shelters and rescue groups from Arkansas and the surrounding areas came together because pets belong in loving homes and not shelters."

Logan said nearly half of the pets were adopted at the two-day event.

"Together, we were able to find homes for over 200 pets," Logan said. "The first-ever super adoption was a huge success and we can’t wait to do it again."
