The secret is out of the bag. After waiting for months, Northwest Arkansas’ Bliss Cupcakes Cafe is announcing they will be appearing on the Food Network’s Cupcake Wars.
Owner Max Moore says they have been waiting to announce the news. The bakery known best for their Red Velvet Razorback cupcake and Chocolate Milkshake cupcake sent their bakers to take on some of the best in the country to see how their cakes measure up. They had to keep tight until one week until the show airs.
The show airs Sunday, June 16, at 7 p.m.
Cupcake Wars, features four of the country’s top cupcake bakers facing off in three elimination challenges until only one decorator remains. The sweet prize: $10,000 and the opportunity to showcase their cupcakes at the winning gig.
Bliss Cupcake Cafe has three Northwest Arkansas locations-the Fayetteville Square, Joyce Boulevard, and Pinnacle Promenade in Rogers.
Place a call to the Uptown Fayetteville location on Joyce Street and you’ll find out this might be one of the best kept secrets. The staff didn’t even know the show was shot, they have no clue which bakers were sent, and they obviously don’t know if they won. Melody Hunt, who’s worked at the Uptown Location for a year and half says, “We had no clue, we found out when the public found out, and we know nothing more. It’s exciting.”
Same goes for the people who were there. Moore say, “We’re just as eager as everyone because they won’t let us get a sneak peak. It’s pretty cut throat–I’m nervous about how they’re going to portray us, but it was a great experience.”
Max’s favorite flavor: Gluten Free Peanut Butter Brownie
Melody’s (Uptown location) favorite flavor: Cream Cheese Brownie, “It’s crunch on the outside, gooey on the inside.”
