The National Hot Dog and Sausage Council says Americans buy more than 837 million packages of hot dogs at stores, and more than 24 million hot dogs at baseball stadiums. Whether you like your plains, with ketchup, or with the works, hot dogs remain in high demand.
It is also peak hot dog season. From Memorial Day to Labor Day, Americans typically consume 7 billion hot dogs. That’s 818 hot dogs consumed every second during that period.
