ARKANSAS, USA — The Buffalo National River is asking for the public's input on drafting a plan to improve accessibility for visitors with disabilities.

The self-evaluation and transition plan (SETP) is supposed to help the national park identify areas such as public structures, campsites, river access points, signs, and services that can be improved.

The park hopes the public can point out where accessibility barriers exist within the park and how they can be addressed.

"By better understanding the needs of today’s visitors, the park can work towards accessible solutions that accommodate the public," Superintendent Angela Boyers said. "Our goal is to provide recreational opportunities that can be enjoyed by everyone."

The public can share their input through the SETP document on the National Park Service Planning, Environment, and Public Comment website between June 28 and July 31.

All comments, including those containing personal identifying information, could be made public at any time. "Although respondents may request that their comments and personal information are withheld from public review, the park cannot guarantee that it will be able to do so," a Buffalo National River press release said.
