ALMA, Ark. — According to the City of Alma, a bridge will be closed down for over a year, starting Aug. 5.

The narrow bridge on Cherry Street that sits between Fayetteville Avenue and Marsha Wooly Dr (Highway 162) will be demolished and replaced as part of a project that "will likely take more than 12 months to complete," according to the city.

The city asks that commuters begin planning alternate routes, and thanks residents for their patience.
